Before joining the NFL in 2020, Anfernee Jennings made a name for himself during his five-year tenure at the University of Alabama. As one of the team's starting outside linebackers, Jennings put up impressive numbers, including 15.5 sacks, interceptions, and forced fumbles.

In Year 3, with a remarkable performance in training camp and the preseason, he solidified his spot as a rotational edge alongside Matthew Judon and Josh Uche.

Jennings proved his worth by earning regular playing time throughout the season. He consistently excelled at setting a stout edge against the run. His discipline and awareness on early downs helped the Patriots strengthen their defensive edge. While primarily focused on run defense, Jennings also made an impact as a pass rusher, recording 10.5 quarterback disruptions and a forced fumble.

Besides his contributions on defense, Jennings also played a significant role on special teams. He was a regular on the kickoff and punt return units, as well as the field goal/extra point kicking squad. Although he didn't register any statistics, he played a part in Marcus Jones' game-winning punt return touchdown against the New York Jets.

Looking ahead to the 2023 season, Jennings will continue to play as a classic outside linebacker. While his main focus remains on early downs and the run game, he has shown potential to positively impact the pass defense. He will share reps with the likes of Matthew Judon, Keion White, and pass rush specialist Josh Uche.

Anfernee Jennings has made a significant impact on the New England Patriots. From his standout college career to his growth in the NFL, Jennings has proven himself as a valuable contributor on both defense and special teams. As he continues to evolve as a player, his role on the team will only become more prominent.
